Non-Surgical Options - Comprehensive Care

Many patients seek out our team of experts because they want to explore the non-surgical options to treating chronic sinusitis.  For many of these patients, surgery is not an option.  Approximately five years ago, Dr. Jeffrey Gallups and Dr. Andrew Pugliese began a collaboration to treat patients who felt they were out of treatment options

Dr. Jeffrey M. Gallups, Medical Director of The Nasal, Sinus and Allergy Institute, entered into a network with Dr. Andrew Pugliese of Sinus Solutions to formulate the team approach to treating the various disease factors contributing to chronic sinusitis.  Dr. Gallups refers to the program as a “one-stop” sinus treatment option.  “We maintain a network of sinus experts specializing in otolaryngology, infectious diseases and allergies joining together to treat the area of the sinuses each knows best.  Our goal is to promote the highest quality of care for patients suffering from sinusitis using a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals.”

Our Team of Experts

The team consists of the following physician specialties:

  • A primary care physician who recognizes the symptoms and initiates therapy.  This doctor also helps maintain your healthy sinuses after treatment.
  • An otolaryngologist who evaluates the severity of the condition and takes the proper corrective action based on medical information derived from the most advanced forms of diagnostic services.  He consults the infectious disease and allergy specialist as needed.
  • An infectious disease physician who treats the infection with an antibiotic regimen targeted specifically to eradicate the bacteria causing the infection.
  • An allergist who helps to reduce allergic symptoms that are exacerbating the sinus condition.

What are the Non-Surgical Options?

Many people suffering from sinus disease have sought treatment only to be told that surgery is the only option.  They may proceed with surgery and find that their condition still hasn’t improved, and some people continue to suffer even after multiple surgeries.  “At the ENT Institute we’re often able to offer our patients innovative, non-surgical treatment options that are less invasive and more effective,” says Dr. Pugliese, considered by colleagues to be a pioneer in non-surgical treatment of chronic sinusitis.  Dr. Gallups concurs.  “Our focus is on cost-effective, innovative, ethical practices which promote treatment and care that far exceeds current healthcare standards and results.  Ultimately our patient’s quality of life is our utmost concern,” he adds.
